If that’s what you’re going for you that are cool, you’ll get that sound with that pick attack. ![]() You can also pluck a little bit… I find that it’s a little bit cleaner because you’re hitting both notes exactly at the same time, with the pick you won’t have to hit it hard. So we have like 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3, down the scale and bump it back to your rhythm. Ok now you can follow that up by going back down the pentatonic scale. So you could use your pick, what I’m doing here is I’m kind of sliding into it from a half step below and because the shuffle is already a triplet rhythm we’re just kind of falling into that, I’m going 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 1 2 3. First of all what I’m doing here is I’m on the G and B strings and I’m in the key of A and this riff, it’s just the 9th fret of the G string and the 8th fret B string. ![]() So one way would be to start with the shuffle and then go into this… Another way would be to do the opposite start with this and there’s several ways to do it. So hopefully you’re familiar with the basic shuffle pattern… Ok there’s also what I call the thirds… Ok so there’s different ways to combine these in the context of like a 12 bar blues pattern.
